What “label” can we wear that would change everything else?

The way we perceive ourselves affects how we see our place in the world, how we see others, and even how we feel in our own skin. We carry many conscious and unconscious labels, but God has marked the people who believe in him in a special, transformative way.

An early Christian leader, a man named Paul, wrote to encourage a group of followers of Jesus, telling them that they had been marked indelibly by God’s Spirit. He wrote, “When you believed, you were marked in [Christ] with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.” A seal is a label of authenticity.

We are going to explore some of Jesus’ own teaching (in the Gospel of John chapters 14-16) on how life in the Spirit brings change — it is meant to fill us, overflow out of us, and connects us in a living relationship to God and others.
