I’ve heard that, but…Would Jesus say it?

We are trying to examine our unquestioned thoughts in a playful but pointed way.

We aren’t sure if anyone ever actually thinks that Jesus said these things, but you may hear these statements casually declared as though their truth is unassailable. We will put them up against things that Jesus actually DID say to see how things – commonly held as true – stand up against things Jesus really did say. Our hope is that you can look at these statements in the light of who Jesus really is and make some decisions for yourself. In the end, we will find that Jesus’ statements often:

• demand more of us,

• reveal darker truths about our hearts,

• and call on us to more radically trust God

...than any of these common saying EVER would.
