Do you want to flourish spiritually?
In Colossians 2:6-7, the apostle Paul uses the image of a tree to describe our faith. He describes the roots, trunk and fruit of the tree:
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him:
rooted and built up in him, [ROOTS]
strengthened in the faith as you were taught, [TRUNK]
and overflowing with thankfulness." [LEAVES/FRUIT]
It’s an image of a vibrant tree. It has deep roots, a strong trunk, and it overflows with leaves and fruit. This is a portrait of a healthy tree. And as an image of our faith it is a portrait of flourishing faith.
You want your faith in Christ to be healthy, growing, and flourishing! What things do we need to focus on, pray for, or leave behind in order to get this kind of flourishing faith?
