Why doesn’t God do something? He does.
We are taking a whirlwind tour through the books of the prophets. Contrary to the common idea of them mostly speaking about the future, God's prophets were troublemakers with a purpose. They made trouble to try to wake people up to the disparity between what we are supposed to believe and do and the evidence of our life.
These prophets were motivated by God to speak boldly to people about how they:
had lost a love for their neighbors and were using people as commodities
loved money and comfort more than worshiping God
had fears of aggression by foreign powers
faced tumultuous political systems and
who longed for God’s peace
It is not a stretch to imagine that these prophets will still have some uncomfortable things to say to us today!
